In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice talking about Hair in Spanish. First we will learn some relevant vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short audio conversation in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times.

Cortar – to cut

Cepillo – brush

Transcript:
Jamie: Hola Elena. ¿Cómo estás?
Elena: Bien, gracias Jamie. Vengo de la peluquería.
Jamie: Sí, tienes el pelo muy bonito.
Elena: Eso espero. Este corte de pelo me ha costado ciento veinte euros.
Jamie: ¿En serio? ¡¡¡Eso es increíble!!! Mis cortes de pelo me cuestan diez euros con el barbero. Hasta el mes pasado eran nueve euros.
Elena: Sí, pero han hecho mucho trabajo con mi pelo. Me lo han lavado, teñido, secado, cortado a capas, peinado… Necesito mantener mis canas controladas y tenía muchas puntas abiertas.
Jamie: ¿Cuánto tiempo estuviste ahí?
Elena: Alrededor de tres horas.
Jamie: ¡Qué! Mi corte de pelo me lleva unos diez minutos.
Elena: A mí me encanta estar en la peluquería. Es como mi segundo hogar. Conozco a todas las peluqueras. Nos tomamos un café y hablamos mal de nuestros maridos.
Jamie: Me lo puedo imaginar. ¡Qué horror!
Elena: Me entero de la mayor parte de los chismes en la peluquería. La Sra. Martínez estaba allí para hacerse una permanente y nos dijo a todas que había pillado a su marido teniendo una aventura con la Sra. Suárez.
Jamie: ¿La Sra. Martínez es la mujer del cabello pelirrojo?
Elena: Sí. Suele llevar el pelo liso. Usa alisadores de pelo. Planchas.
Jamie: Ah, vale.
Elena: Su marido Paco es el que tiene esas patillas pasadas de moda y el pelo de punta. ¡Todavía vive en los años cincuenta!
