In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice talking about computers in Spanish. First we will learn some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short audio conversation in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times.

Now play the audio to listen a conversation. Can you understand what is being said? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.

Dave: Hola Sara, ¿qué te pasa?
Sara: No sé qué está pasando con mi ordenador, Dave. ¡Maldita sea!
Dave: ¿Qué le pasa?
Sara: No lo sé. Estaba navegando por la red y, de repente, se bloqueó y no se reinicia. Está cargando todo el tiempo.
Dave: No te preocupes. Estoy seguro de que podemos encontrar el problema y volver a la normalidad.
Sara: Estoy harta de este portátil. Pierdo mucho tiempo con él. Siempre está fallando.
Dave: Es bastante antiguo. ¿Lo tienes siempre actualizado? ¿Tienes todos tus archivos importantes guardados en otro sitio?
Sara: Mmmmhhh, la verdad es que no.
Dave: Bien, déjame echar un vistazo… ¿Hiciste clic en algún enlace justo antes de que se bloqueara?
Sara: No lo creo. Espera un momento… sí, hice clic en un enlace en un sitio web que estaba usando.
Dave: ¿Fue un enlace de descarga?
Sara: Sí, eso creo.
Dave: ¿Qué estabas intentando descargar?
Sara: Un juego.
Dave: ¿Se descargó?
Sara: Creo que sí. Hice clic en otra cosa para ejecutar la instalación y creo que fue entonces cuando se bloqueó.
Dave: Tienes que tener cuidado con los programas que instalas Sara. Pueden contener un virus que infecten tu ordenador.
Sara: Necesito el portátil para terminar un trabajo hoy. ¿Crees que está roto?
Dave: ¿Diste tus datos personales, correo electrónico o tarjeta de crédito?
Sara: No. Fue una descarga gratuita.
Dave: Vale, eso está bien. Solo tenemos que escanear tu portátil y averiguar qué lo bloquea. Déjalo conmigo.
Sara: Oh, muchas gracias Dave. ¡No sé qué haría sin ti!
