Summertime heat got you down? Tired of the power outages already? Need to learn to just… Let It Go? At last you’ll see the light, with the upcoming Disney en Concierto: Sinfonia de Películas coming next month to the Teatro Colón. For the first time, together with Disney and the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, the world famous opera house is bringing a show that will take you inside the magic of the Disney movies you know and love.

The show will feature selections from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Frozen and more, with musical direction by Enrique Arturo Diemecke, maestro of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra. Disney promises an interactive experience to bring the music of the movies to life, with lights, live characters, dancers, singers, and a few surprises as well, in true Disney fashion.

The Teatro Colón, first opened in May 1908, is considered one of the Top 10 opera houses in the world by National Geographic and is frequently cited as one of the top performance halls in the world by researchers and music experts. What better way to introduce or reacquaint yourself with its grandeur than by singing Hakuna Matata accompanied by the philharmonic orchestra?

Performances will be held from February 22-24 at 11:00 AM. Tickets are on sale now, and three of six shows are already sold out, with sales only having opened this week. Since the theater itself has a whooping 2,487 seats, that means the show’s sold over 7,000 tickets in the span of just two days (yeah, I’m good at math).

Depending on where in the theater you want to sit, the tickets can get pricey too. Tickets range from AR $300 pesos at the cheapest, to AR $7,000 for the front row. But just think, it’s a bargain compared to a plane ticket to Disneyland.
