As the holidays begin to creep closer, signs of Christmas are starting to pop up around the city. Artificial trees and colored lights abound — just take a stroll down any major avenue like Corrientes. Another three day weekend is ahead of us Argentine residents — giving us some extra hours to soak up the lovely December sunshine. And impossibly blue skies provide the perfect backdrop for city outings, whether to parks, museums, restaurants, or bars. Get out there and try to make the most of it — our friends and family in the Northern Hemisphere might getting snow, but we still get to sunbathe!

2017’s last edition of Feria del Productor al Consumidor is setting up in the UBA’s School of Agriculture this weekend. For those who aren’t familiar with it, the feria is an Argentine take on a farmer’s market, made up of self-managed workers who see their products through from start to finish. That means that if you’re one of those people who like to know a little more about what they’re buying, you’re in luck — the vendors would be more than happy to give you an in-depth explanation of what exactly goes into their production. Head on down to do your holiday shopping and support some small, local businesses in the process. Admission to the event is free!
