Stoner rock bands Ambassador and Los Devas, plus alternative instrumental act Hijos Amigos, will be playing three intense live music shows that will satisfy the inner metal head in you.

9 PM | AR $100 | JJ Circuito Cultural | Jean Jaures 347

Clasico Fernandez presenta: Audia Valdez & Hamacas al Rio

The weekend’s getting closer and closer, and what better than a couple of sophisticated live music shows to cleanse your palate from all the reggaeton being played by your annoying co-workers at the office? Experimental multi-media project Audia Valdez and indie pop/folk duo HAMACAS AL RIO will be playing live at the super intimate Clásico Fernández, a venue that seems to have been tailor-made for these two artists.

Amor Elefante + Los Besos en Xirgu Espacio Untref

The lovely quirkiness of Amor Elefante’s pop reverie takes over Xirgu Espacio Untref for one night full of delicate yet complex sounds. They’ll be joined by Los Besos and their witty, poetic tales of unrequited love told over lush soundscapes. Both bands will be playing songs from their latest albums, “Oriente” (Amor Elefante) and “Helados verdes” (Los Besos).

9 PM | AR $200 | Xirgu Espacio Untref | Chacabuco 875

Los Reyes del Falsete, Atrás Hay Truenos e Ignacio del Pórtico

Friday starts off with a trifecta of the best guitar-driven indie rock this town has seen in many years: Adrogué’s very own Los Reyes del Falsete and their muscular six string interplay, Atrás Hay Truenos and their fragile yet intense electric landscapes, and Ignacio del Pórtico and his pristine pop freshness. Oh, and by the way, all of this will be happening at La Confitería, one of the loveliest venues in Buenos Aires.

11:45 PM | La Confitería | F. Lacroze 2963

C.A. #11 Los Fritos Playa Sintética Obrero y Parásito Viet/Cong

Ciclo Abismal is back for its 11th edition, with yet another diverse lineup that will make you dance and forget the fact that summer is slowly fading away and we’re all getting older by the minute. This time around, psychedelic garage rockers Los Fritos, bluesy post-punk outfit Playa Sintetica, introspective acoustic project Obrero y Parásito, and Viet/Cong, a band whose non-existent social media presence and politically incorrect name speak for themselves, will be performing live on the stage of Espacio Cultural Mi Casa.

11 PM | AR $80 | Espacio Cultural Mi Casa | Aguero 787

Saturday March 24

FrostProof + Black Guillemot (Suecia)

In what seems to be a clear reversal of roles, Swedish band Black Guillemot will be playing their jangly indie pop tunes along with Argentines FrostProof and their icy, nordic-inspired post-rock aesthetics. The show will be a la gorra, so bring enough cash to show these musicians the love they deserve.

Koyi + La vida en familia play Matienzo

Koyi is a band that dwells on the softer side of indie rock, playing music that’s both hazy and lucid at the same time, with a clear infatuation for dream pop. La vida en familia is a synthpop duo with a knack for nocturnal moods and late night musings, whose music is of an intimate and observational nature. Acting as a yin to each other’s yang, they’ll both be playing at Matienzo this Saturday, in an evening that promises to have a lil’ something for every music nerd out there.

9 PM | AR $100 | Club Cultural Matienzo | Pringles 1249

Sideshow Lollapalooza | Anderson .Paak en Teatro Vorterix

The weekend’s gone, but what better way to start the week than with some more live music? After his amazing show at Lollapalooza, the hyper-talented rapper/songwriter Anderson .Paak is bringing his sun-drenched R&B grooves to Teatro Vorterix for a highly anticipated sideshow.

10 PM | AR$ 1100 | Teatro Vorterix | Av.Federico Lacroze 3455

A quick reminder. We want to make sure we cover as much material as possible each week; but with a scene this active, a lot can slip through the cracks. So, in our effort to remain on top of things, we’ve set up an e-mail address where you – that’s right, you, dear reader – can submit your own suggestions for shows for us to cover. If you have a gig coming up, or you know of one, we want to hear about it! Hit us up at setlist@thebubble.com.
