If you have to take the subway today, you might want to consider an alternate mean of transportation. Some of the sector’s union members are providing the service with delays – and the B line is directly not operating – as a way of making visible their rejection to the new schedule imposed by the city government, in agreement with Metrovías company.
As of today, all lines will start operating at 5:30 AM – half an hour later than usual – and finish at 11:30 PM – also half an hour later than the previous schedule. City government representatives argue that the new schedule allows more people to use the subway, as there are more passengers late at night than early in the morning.
However, one of the unions called Asociación Gremial de Trabajadores del Subterráneo y Premetro rejected the decision, meaning that the workers who are part of it are striking or providing a reduced service in protest. The delays vary depending on the amount of workers striking in every line.
