Psych!

Let’s all just take a moment to remember that time, back in 2012, when Argentina’s then president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner visited Harvard University. In one fell swoop, she managed to dodge practically every question about the failings of her government, mock the students who asked her the questions and piss off just about everyone living in La Matanza.

In case you need a refresher:

The student begins by saying he feels “very privileged to be one of the few Argentine students allowed to ask a question”, to which the president responds: “Chicos, we’re at Harvard. These things are for students at La Matanza [a public university in Argentina], not for those at Harvard.” Ouch.

Well, next month, Cristina’s hitting the university trail again, paying a visit to Harvard’s British counterpart, the highly prestigious and ridiculously beautiful University of Oxford. The ex presidenta has been invited to speak at the student-run and hugely controversial debating society The Oxford Union and, as is customary, she’ll be taking questions from the floor. Let’s hope these students don’t make the mistake of reading off note cards.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the dreaming spires. Cristina, who has been given the all clear to travel to Europe by Judge Claudio Bonadio in spite of her prominent role in the so-called “Los Sauces” case, has a jam-packed schedule to distract her from her on-going legal woes.

Invited by the central committee of Greece’s left-wing Syriza party, the Argentine politician will be visiting Athens, where a rendezvous is planned with President Alexis Tsipras and the current Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikos Voutsis.

Cristina will also be checking in at the European Parliament in Brussels, where she’ll be giving a speech during a debate on “social and human rights in Argentina and the region, and the role of the European Union” as well as meeting with various left-wing and progressive parliamentarians.

More comedy gold coming right up (probably), but for now we’ll leave you with this:

“Chicos, we’re at Hogwarts. These things are for students at La Matanza”
